Revamping for AI: The Alibaba Token Hub

This move aims to streamline operations and enhance profitability from its artificial intelligence initiatives. The new unit will consolidate the research team behind its flagship Qwen models and manage various AI-related products, including its consumer app and the DingTalk communication platform.

This shift comes at a crucial time as Alibaba faces increasing scrutiny over its AI strategy, particularly following the unexpected departure of a key leader from the Qwen project. By unifying its AI operations, Alibaba intends to foster better collaboration among teams and accelerate the monetization of its AI technologies.
